Project Village Car Share has successfully completed its pilot phase. We thank our local municipalities, funding partners, and community members for the support to this transportation project. We learned valuable lessons and gain better understanding of the transportation needs of rural residents through this pilot program. ECW has released PVCS 2025 Impact Report.

Yes, the car share service will now close for public use. Our electric vehicles will be deactivated from the system starting May 30, 2025. Current car share users won’t be able to access the service and new applications will be declined.

The car share service will be closed to the public starting May 30, 2025, however, ongoing funded community projects will not be affected by this closure. Our nonprofit partners will continue to use the electric vehicles in Blacks Harbour, St. Andrews, and St. Stephen until the community projects end.

After the community projects are complete, the electric vehicles will be stored and maintained at the ECW head office until a plan is set for the future use of these assets.
