Damage Protection Plan

Important: Availing a Damage Protection Plan does not mean car share users are waived from paying damage costs brought to the electric vehicle or third party property (e.g. another vehicle, fence, pole, trees, etc.) while using the car share service.

Car Share users, both members and non-members, are required to have a Damage Protection Plan (DPP). Project Village Car Share has an active car share insurance; however, this is not a ticket pass that removes the financial responsibilities of the car share user should they be involved in an accident while using the service (at fault or not). The DPP serves as a financial support for clients to help cover some damage costs brough by an accident.

The level of cost coverage will depend on the client’s selected monthly contribution. Tier 1 offers the highest protection with $700 damage cost coverage for only $10.00 contribution per month, while Tier 3 offers the lowest with $100 damage cost coverage for only $5.00 contribution per month. Any damage costs more than the stipulated DPP coverages will be shouldered by the car share client responsible.

Additional Fees

Additional fees are placed to promote courteous and fair use of the car share service. You can avoid these additional costs by following best practices and keeping the user’s code of conduct. This will not just help elevate your car share experience, you’ll also help others have an enjoyable trip with our electric vehicles.

Important: Any form of discount will not apply to additional fees incurred by the car share. In case the system does apply a discount, a separate invoice will be created and charged to the client to settle for the deficit amount.
